Penalty: Disqualification of horse

Mr Oatham sought a Ruling that BAILADOR be disqualified from 9th place in Race 8 as its Rider had weighed in at 58.8 instead of 59.5, and was therefore 0.7 kg light. He explained that the lead was missing from the lead bag. Mr Mudhoo, the Rider of BAILADOR, acknowledged it was his error in that he had forgotten to add the lead to the bag.

Mr McCann did not contest the disqualification.

Decision:

Mr Mudhoo, the Rider of BAILADOR, failed to add the lead to the lead bag he had weighed out with. The consequence was he weighed in 0.7 kg light.

Rule 648(3) is mandatory in its terms. The horse is disqualified from 9th place.
