FACTS
Licensed Trainer Mr Robbie Patterson admitted a breach of Rule 404(2).
The breach being, that the incorrect horse was brought to the races.
Horse ‘NEXT BROKEN HEART’ was entered and accepted in Race 2 (Carpet Maintenance Cleaning Mdn 1200).
However, the horse ‘VOODOO CHILD’ was incorrectly transported to the race meeting instead of ‘NEXT BROKEN HEART’.
Mr Patterson, who is campaigning horses in Australia, was made aware of the situation, notified Stewards and after establishing that ‘VOODOO CHILD’ was the horse on course, Stewards scratched ‘NEXT BROKEN HEART’ at 10.33am.
DECISION
As the charge was admitted, it was deemed proved.
PENALTY SUBMISSIONS
Stewards said that prior penalties for a breach of the Rule ranged from $350 to $700.
Stewards said that it was a genuine mistake and was brought to their attention as soon as was possible.
Mr Patterson accepted full responsibility.
REASONS FOR PENALTY
Taking all matters into consideration, a fine of $500 was considered appropriate.
CONCLUSION
Mr R Patterson was fined $500.
